Why participate?

Inspiration
Situated in Newport, Chandler in Gaspésie, Germinal, being on the side of the water, is the ideal place to extract yourself from your routine. Offering a room, Germinal allows artists to concentrate on creation through stimulating exchanges.

Community
With three bedrooms, artists are encouraged to interact, exchange and inspire each other. The kitchen being shared among the artists, this communal living can be used to create new bonds, both professional and personal.

Visibility
The exhibition hall allows locals and numerous tourists to see the work of the hosted artists at the Germinal.
What is offered

Housing
A bedroom, including a bed, sheets, private bathroom and wifi.

Exhibition Hall
On the first floor of Germinal is an intimate exhibition hall. Artists are encouraged to expose their work and share it with the community.

What is not included
Travel fees, art supplies and living costs (a grocery store is located less than 100m away from the building).

Expectations
Artists are also strongly encouraged to interact with their peers during their stay. They are also encouraged to organize with the Germinal an activity for the community (exhibition, conference...)

Duration
We accept shorter stays, but prioritize applications for residencies that last 2 to 6 weeks.
